The Filzensattel with its highes point on the pass of 1.290 m is located on the northwestern edge of the Salzburger Schieferalpen in Pinzgau between Hinterthal and Dienten. The Hochkönig road (B164) crosses the Filzensattel and is well with a few narrow points in places.
