He is the son of desert blues legend Ali Farka Touré, whose musical legacy he carries into our present day: Vieux Farka Touré, also a gifted singer and guitarist, mixes the traditional sounds of his native Mali with styles such as jazz, rock and reggae. His virtuoso guitar playing has earned him the nickname ‘Hendrix of the Sahara’.
