"Save Our Children" is the title of a 1998 album by Pharoah Sanders. Tomoki, the saxophonist's only son, was four at the time and listened primarily to Coltrane's "Giant Steps," "top to bottom, like it’s a whole video game." As a "a free electron who greedily explores Great Black Music, urban music, electronic music and the avant-garde," Tomoki is now one of the most exciting talents on the New York scene, also due to their "openness and diversity thanks to their dual Afro-American and Japanese culture and their non-binarity“. After five years in Kassa Overall's band and numerous collaborations, Tomoki will present the music of their current band's album, due to be released next year, in Saalfelden – with Tomoki on saxophone, of course.
