Manfred Baumann
Manfred Baumann, born in 1956 in Hallein near Salzburg, lives south of the city of Salzburg and works as a freelance author, cabaret artist, director, and host. For more than 30 years he worked at ORF as a presenter, program creator, and department head.
He writes Salzburg-based crime novels centered around the charismatic investigator Inspector Martin Merana (published by Gmeiner Verlag). His latest novel is Salzburgwut – Merana’s 12th Case. Characters and motifs from Baumann’s novels have served as the basis for TV crime dramas on ORF and ZDF, including Drachenjungfrau, The Dark Paradise, and Flame Girl.
Nadine Buranaseda
Nadine Buranaseda, born in 1976, knows both sides of the desk as an author and editor.
The Cologne native with Thai roots on her father’s side lives near Bonn and studied German and philosophy with the aim of becoming a teacher. Her talent for writing was discovered at university: for one of the final course credits she needed in order to register for her First State Examination, she was allowed to write a short crime story, which her professor submitted to a publisher.
In 2005 she published her first novel—a Jerry Cotton title—followed by more than a dozen others. After working as editor-in-chief of the SYNDIKAT and as an editor at Bastei Lübbe AG, she became self-employed in 2019 as an editor and author coach.
