Gschnaggatheater: DAS TAPFERE SCHNEIDERLEIN
Fairy tale comic musical theater based on Grimm by die theaterachse, directed by Mathias Schuh; duration: approx. 50 min.; recommended age: for everyone aged 4 and up
Everyone knows the fairy tale of the brave little tailor. But why “little tailor”? Doesn't this diminutive form reveal something about the tailor's true character?
He is no hero, but rather a small-time charlatan who stumbles from one adventure to the next due to his exaggerated self-assessment. Admittedly, he survives these thanks to his wit and intelligence, but he is not brave in the best sense of the word. The fact remains that his successes are based on untruths and misjudgments, and that is what is really interesting about this fairy tale. He hits flies, overcomes giants, defeats a unicorn, and catches a wild boar, for which he is rewarded with a princess and half the kingdom. Nice, but will he be happy? And the princess? That's why there's another possibility besides the classic ending of the fairy tale, but we won't give it away.
Play/ Concept/ Direction/ Performance: Daniel Pink
Compositions/ Recordings: Mathias Schuh
Music Production: Stilles Wasser
Animation/ Film: Hannes Schaidreiter
