Did you know? Argentina is home to the largest Swiss community in Latin America. And although the Swiss "jazz vocalist and composer" Andreas Schaerer, 2023 "Artist in Residence" at our jazz festival, also has a thing about tango, and the Argentinian pianist Leo Genovese is said to have stood near a Schwyzerörgeli, both of those facts are irrelevant here. Rather, it's their personal musical evolution that led them to search for the most remote, mostly British or (South) American sounds in their homeland, only to then become increasingly interested in the music of their motherlands in precisely these distant places – Genovese in Boston and New York, Schaerer while traveling through South and Central America. The two improvisational artists are now exploring these and other intersections around noon on a Saturday. Of all places, and only in Saalfelden.
