After Riva del Garda and Willingen, BIKE festival number three takes place from 31 August to 2 September in the middle of the Leogang Steinberge mountains and offers a wide range of activities, from extensive testing opportunities for the 2019 models to numerous sporting highlights.
For the first time, the well-known event series is setting up camp in Austria and the bike mecca of Saalfelden Leogang has been chosen. The dates in late summer are ideal for all those who want to test the first models of the coming year "fresh" from the trade fair and on the trails of the bike park in the large bike expo area. In addition to numerous testing opportunities, there will of course also be the chance to compete with other bikers. At the third stage of the Rocky Mountain Marathon series, the overall winners will be determined in Saalfelden Leogang. Marathon participants can choose between three distances. The supreme discipline awaits with 3600 vertical metres spread over 97 kilometres from Leogang via Saalfelden, Maria Alm and back - numerous climbs and descents via Biberg, Asitz and Co. included, of course.
But the Enduro riders will also crown the best rider in the Scott Enduro series at the end. There are five stages to master on the route between Leogang, Saalbach and Hinterglemm. There will also be another premiere with the Pump the Festival event: Here, spectators can be up close and personal when the athletes choose the winner of the Austrian Pumptrack Series on Friday evening. The Scott Junior Trophy in Leogang also offers youngsters the opportunity to get a taste of racing for the first time. The Ghost Recon Ride is also taking place. In this competition, teams of two with GPS transponders take on the routes and trails in and around the Bikepark Leogang. The goal is to reach installed orientation points with exciting action stations that test the riders' skills, among other things. Those who want to cut a fine figure not only on two wheels, but also on four, will have the opportunity to test drive their favourite Volvo model on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. "It will be a festival for the whole family, where every biker, from e-bikers to trail specialists, will get their money's worth," says Saalfelden Leogang Touristik Managing Director Marco Pointner.
