For endurists, marathon runners and future specialists

BIKE Festival Saalfelden Leogang has a wide range to offer

From 31 August to 2 September, Saalfelden Leogang will be hosting a premiere: the renowned BIKE Festival will be making its first stop on Austrian soil. The SCOTT Enduro Series and the SCOTT Junior Trophy will also be taking part in the event weekend.

If you want to pay a visit to the famous BIKE Festival 2018, you don't have to make your way to Riva or Willingen this season. For the first time, the well-known event series is setting up camp in Austria, more precisely in Saalfelden Leogang. In addition to the large bike expo with over 60 exhibitors, the event is also packed full of competitions. Among others, the SCOTT Enduro Series and the SCOTT Junior Trophy await.

SCOTT Enduro Series and SCOTT Junior Trophy on Saturday

The enduro riders will take to the bike parquet on Saturday, 1 September. The race at the BIKE Festival Saalfelden Leogang is part of the SCOTT Enduro Series along with the festivals in Riva and Willingen. The spectacular mountain bike discipline is looking for the fastest riders on enduro bikes who can expect crisp single trails and technical challenges on the route from Leogang via Saalbach Hinterglemm. Anyone can take part, from motivated hobby bikers to established professional riders. E-mountain bikers compete for places in a separate classification.
At 10.30 am, the juniors will take to the tracks. As part of the SCOTT Junior Trophy, the young riders can get a taste of racing air, cheered on by numerous cheering spectators. On a varied course, bikers aged three to 14 will experience a mixture of sporting challenge, real bike spirit and a good dose of fun.

Festival weekend packed with marathon, pump track and orienteering competition

But it's not just the BIKE Festival Saturday that has a lot in store for riders and visitors. Sunday, 2 September, is all about the Rocky Mountain Bike Marathon. This sends its participants on three differently challenging routes. The supreme discipline awaits with 3600 vertical metres spread over 97 kilometres from Leogang via Saalfelden, Maria Alm and back - numerous climbs and descents via Biberg, Asitz and Co. included, of course.

Friday 31 August is also "Pump the Festival" time. Before the grand finale of the Austrian Pumptrack Series takes place at 6 pm, the youngsters will make their appearance at 2 pm.

The Ghost Recon Ride also takes place on Friday at 1.30 pm. In this competition, teams of two with GPS transponders will take on the tracks and trails in and around Bikepark Leogang. The goal is to reach the installed orientation points with exciting action stations which, among other things, put the riders' skills to the test.

Those who want to cut a fine figure not only on two wheels but also on four will have the opportunity to test drive their favourite Volvo model on Friday (12 noon to 8 p.m.), Saturday (10 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and Sunday (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Bookings can be made online at www.volvo-probefahrt.at/bike-festival or on site.
