Bikepark Leogang once again a playground for the World Cup elite

Clear the ring: the Bikepark Leogang has reopened its gates from today, 12 May, making the region the best address for all bike sports fans.

But it's not just amateur downhillers who will be romping around the trails in Pinzgau again in 2016. From 9 to 12 June, the bike park will once again be a hotspot for professionals at the UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Cup.

Bikepark Leogang kicks off the summer season. And while "Bongo Bongo", "Flying Gangster", "Hang Man II" and "Speedster" will be giving all amateur bikers a good shake from today, 12 May, the pros of the scene will be taking to the Pinzgau stage from 9 to 12 June. For the sixth time, the track in Leogang has been chosen by the UCI as the venue for the Downhill World Cup and will bring the best in the world to the region in four weeks' time as part of the "Out of Bounds Festival".

Rapid descents over root carpets and stone passages

The Speedster Trail is peppered with steep steps, rough root carpets, tight hairpin bends and fast sections that demand all the skills of the World Cup riders. At speeds of over 70 km/h, the bikers fight for every hundredth of a second over the 2.6 kilometres. In addition to sophisticated riding technique and strong acceleration, it is also the necessary bit of courage that decides who wins the day. In any case, it's not for the faint-hearted - neither for the riders nor for the spectators. The latter are guaranteed a first-class bike spectacle from 9 to 12 June 2016.

Pure bike action at the Out of Bounds Festival

The UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Cup will be framed by the legendary "Out of Bounds Festival". Once again, the event puts the Saalfelden Leogang region completely in the hands of gravity sports for a whole weekend. From the 26TRIX Dirt Jump Contest to the Pump Track Contest and an extensive supporting programme - the fans and riders of the scene really let it rip on these days. Two further highlights in this year's supporting programme are the trial show by and with Tom Öhler before the women's final race and the spectacular performance by the Red Bull Skydive Team before the big men's showdown on Sunday.
